HdM Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Faces Fade in Running Water, a group exhibition curated by Di Siqi, opening on November 7, 2026. The exhibition brings together paintings by Chen Han, Alexander Tinei, and Gideon Rubin. While each artist has developed a distinct visual language, all three share a commitment to figurative painting as a means of exploring portraiture, identity, and perception.

The figures in their works flow like water, impossible to pin down as any particular individuals. They move beyond the homogenized faces produced by collective paradigms. At first glance, the portraits appear silent and still, yet beneath the surface, contradictions and undercurrents stir, bringing faces from both past and present into view.

These recent works revisit time and memory while examining the relationship between collective and individual consciousness. Together, they establish a dialogue between Eastern and Western artists that transcends the boundaries of individual experience.
