Ye Linghan, born in 1985, Lishui, China. He lives and works in Beijing.
Ye Linghan's works offer a perfect definition of what the term contemporary means in art: constantly searching beyond painting, both technically and thematically.
In Ye Linghan's work, we find the same avant-garde poetry as in Picabia's: a musicality in form, a transparency in emotion, a work that is a true mirror of the soul.
It's no coincidence that Ye Linghan's work is imbued with the figure of Lucy, the first woman of prehistoric times, whose bones were found in the 1970s. The artist's quest is a return to his origins. Symbolic and encyclopedic origins, with deformed and fractured bodies that belong as much to the past as to the future. Technical origins, using spray paint and then thin plates, recreating a sfumato and solid-colored flat tints assembled like archaeological fragments.
His work has been exhibited in prestigious museums such as the Minsheng Art Museum, MOCA Shanghai and the Today Art Museum Beijing, and has been included in leading group shows worldwide.
